Wilmer O. Baker, 86, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Lincolnshire Place in Sycamore.
He was born June 11, 1936, in Robinson, Illinois, the son of Keith and Anna (Inboden) Baker. Wilmer married Roberta Heuer on February 14, 1955 at the First Baptist Church in DeKalb.
Wilmer was a plumbing contractor in DeKalb for 25 years. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union 612 of DeKalb, Moose Lodge and the Kishwaukee Country Club.
He is survived by his children, Debbie (Dave) Rich, and Keith (Hope) Baker; grandchildren, Josh (Allison) Rich, Zach (Susie) Rich, Nick (Nicole) Baker and Eric (Meghan) Baker; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; friend, Marion Decker of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta; grandson, Brian; his parents; two sisters, Joyce Jordan and Janice Baker.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Lincolnshire Place and ProMedica Hospice for their care and support.
The Celebration of Life will be held From 3pm to 6pm Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Knights of Columbus, 1336 East Lincoln Hwy. Private graveside service will be held at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb.
