WILLIAM "BILL" JOHNSON Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of William "Bill" Johnson on May 13, 2024 at the age of 97.  Bill grew up and spent his entire professional career in DeKalb where he was an entrepreneur, general contractor and real estate broker.  Bill was an active member the Elks serving as their Exalted Ruler.

He is survived by his brother Richard Johnson, daughter Karen (Paul) Jerde, sons Randall (Pam) Johnson, and Mark (Nancy) Johnson.  Grandchildren Amy Hale, Chad (Sara) Hawks, Kyle Johnson, Eric Johnson, Rachel Johnson and Sydney Johnson as well as great grandchildren Grace Hale and Gretchen Hale.

He was preceded in death by his father Edo, mother Ethel, his wife Rosemary, brother Clarence sisters Alice and Betty and grandson Bradley' 

When not spending time with his family Bill loved to golf and travel. Among his favorite travel destinations was Minnesota's Boundry Waters Canoe Area, BWCA.  He often referred to the BWCA as "heaven on earth."  The family takes great comfort in knowing that he is there now, at rest after his final portage.
