Theresa M. Gifford, 73, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born September 8, 1952, in DeKalb, Illinois, the daughter of Raymond and Eleanor (Mueller) Callahan. Theresa married Dan Gifford on March 2nd, 1990, in Sycamore.
Theresa enjoyed the outdoors and every chance she got to visit a National Park. She also enjoyed gardening and music, especially classic rock. She made many memories and friends during her time working for Opportunity House. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Dan; her four children Renee (Mike) Scheffers of DeKalb, Zachary (Jennifer) Johnson of DeKalb, Daniel (Nicole) Gifford of DeKalb, and Eric Gifford of Malta; her grandchildren Hailey, Andrew, Connor, Cody, Anderson, Lucas, Lindsey, Elaina, and Gracin; her siblings Pat (Joann) Callahan, Dick (Carol) Callahan, Ray Callahan, Maureen Callahan, Bob (Annie) Callahan, Bill Callahan, Jim Callahan, Marianne (Dave) Walker; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her nephew Joey Kellen; her nephew Jacob Kellen; her niece Erin Herek; and her great nephew Eli Hutchins.
The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Anderson Funeral Home, 2011 S. 4th St, DeKalb, IL. 
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday June 20, at the funeral home.
