SUE ANN COOK

Sue Ann Cook, 71, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born September 8, 1954, in DeKalb, Illinois, the daughter of Oscar and Florence (Kirchner) Machin.

Sue enjoyed traveling to St George Island, Florida “ her Happy Place” and also Traverse City, Michigan. She also enjoyed lying in the sun, gardening and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband Dean; her children Lisa (Michael) Rainey, Brenna (Eduardo) Goodall; her granddaughter Jayla Rainey, and step-grandsons Isaiah and Elijah Goodall; her siblings Rick (Meredith) Machin, and  Roger (Mary) Machin; also many nieces and nephews; and her dog Rizzo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her Infant brother Jimmy.

Visitation will be from 3:00  p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2026, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb.
