Ruth Harris Rhoads, 89, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away March 4, 2023, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield.

 She was born December 1, 1933, in Wisconsin, the daughter of  Ross and Ada (Hartman) Harris. Ruth’s father suffered an early death when Ruth was a child of five, but her mother Ada lived until the age of 96.

 Ruth graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison with a Bachelor’s degree in rural sociology in 1956. It was in Madison that she met her husband John K. Rhoads, whom she married in 1960. Ruth’s most recent job was the dissertation advertiser at the graduate school of Northern Illinois University.

 Ruth is Survived by her husband John and one sibling Barbara Anderson of Egg Harbor, Wisconsin.
