Roger Montavon, 83, of DeKalb, Illinois passed away October 6, 2025.

He was born September 25, 1942 in Sycamore, Illinois, the son of Francis and Dorothy (Thorson) Montavon. Roger Married Jo Ellen Gile on May 2, 1964 at St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb, Illinois.

He was an Electrician working for Virgil Cook and Son, Ram Electric (Owner) and retiring from Kishwaukee Electric in 2004. Roger was an Army veteran serving in Vietnam. His family was his pride and joy. He enjoyed attending their many activities, events and many hobbies such as hunting and traveling.

He is survived by his wife Jo Ellen; two sons Brian Montavon, of Cortland, Illinois, his sons Matthew (Kiralyn), of Cortland, Illinois and Andrew (Olivia),of Cortland, Illinois and Kevin Montavon, of Batavia, Illinois, his son Avery (Sam) of Chicago, Illinois; his daughters Natasha of Batavia, Illinois and Tatiana of Chicago, Illinois; his great granddaughter Arianna; his brothers Donald Montavon of Florida and Kenneth (Shirley) Montavon of DeKalb, Illinois; his sisters Ruth Ann Anderson of Sycamore, Illinois and Laura (Rick) Anderson of Arizona; and  many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Larry Montavon; his sisters Donna Zurbrick, Joyce Scheiderer,

Sharon Montavon and Cynthia Montavon; his brothers-in-law Lloyd Zurbrick and Mike Scheiderer; and  his sister-in-law Dorothy Montavon.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at  6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 10, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Cemetery in DeKalb.
