Robert “Rob” Tiberi, 77, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away Monday, September 30, 2024, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield.
 
He was born April 14, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of John and Rita (Keating) Tiberi. Robert married Sharon Wantuck on February 8, 1969, in South Bend, Indiana.
 
Robert was a Veteran of the US Air Force.  He was manager of sales at Allied Concrete Company in Chicago and later worked at Grainger in Downers Grove for many years prior to retirement. Robert had been a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Co-Leader. He enjoyed many visits to Owasippe Scout Reservation in Twin Lake, Michigan. Robert was an avid Chicago Bears and Notre Dame Football fan.
 
He is survived by his wife Sharon; his children Robert (Lindy) Tiberi Jr. of Chicago, Catherine (Nathan O’Shea) Tiberi of DeKalb, Deborah (Christopher) Smeberg of Portage, Indiana and Patricia (Adam) Collard of Land O’Lakes, Florida; his grandchildren Kaila, Sophia, Isabella and Harlynn; his brother John (Nancy) Tiberi of Indianapolis, Indiana; his sisters Anita (d. William) McMahon of Oak Brook, Illinois, and Diane (James) Hughes of Norcross, Georgia; also many nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents.
 
The celebration of life will be held at 4pm to 7pm Friday, November 8, 2024 at Lucky Monk, 105 Hollywood BLVD, South Barrington, IL 60010. A private interment of cremated remains will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, in Elwood, Illinois with Full Military Honors. 
 
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Tiberi Family in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL 60115. All collections will be donated by the family to Owasippe Staff Association. Owasippe and scouting were where some of his happiest memories were made.
