It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert William Jarvis, 78, of DeKalb, Illinois, who earned his angel wings on Friday, January 3, 2025, peacefully at home. Born on July 28, 1946, in Hillsboro, Illinois, to Delbert and Dorothy (Dooley) Jarvis.

Bob dedicated his life to work and family. In his young life, Bob was a two-time state wrestling champion for Riverside-Brookfield High School and won various awards for football. He served International Harvester/Navistar with unwavering loyalty for over 40 years, rising through the ranks to supervisory capacities in the Melrose Park engine plant. Bob's dedication extended beyond his professional life; he was an avid supporter of Chicago sports teams, notably the Bears and Blackhawks. He also found joy in bowling, traveling, and cherishing moments with his family.

Bob leaves behind a loving family: his children, Dr. Heather Jarvis and Christopher Jarvis; grandchildren, Bailey Jarvis-Taylor, Aidan, and Collin Jarvis; and great-grandson, Emilio; stepchildren, Marcus and Amy Burnstine; and step-grandchildren, Ava, Dane, Aria, and Asher; as well as a niece and other extended family.

He joins in eternal rest his beloved wife, Mary Jacquelynn (Jackie) Marquis-Jarvis, his parents, and his sister Noweita Stoll. As per Bob's wishes, no services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation, reflecting Bob's steadfast support for the Military and our Veterans.

A memorial event will be held sometime in the future.
