ROBERT BUEHLER

Robert "Bob" Buehler, 62, of Genoa, Illinois, concluded his life's journey on Monday, November 6, 2023, while at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn.

Born on October 29, 1961, in DeKalb, Illinois, he was the cherished son of John and Paula (Hart) Buehler. Bob dedicated many years to perfecting the craft of carpentry and ran his own successful business, Buehler Construction, where he poured his heart and soul into every project.

A man of varied interests, Bob thrived in the company of others, found joy in the companionship of animals, and was a passionate outdoorsman. His love for nature was evident; often found fishing or camping, he took every opportunity to appreciate and care for the animals around him. His enthusiasm for sports was undeniable. A formidable football player and wrestler in his youth, he later channeled his love for sports into coaching, instilling the same passion in his children and the youth he mentored.

In the quieter moments, Bob found solace and delight in the art of jewelry-making, gemstones, and wire wrapping. His skilled hands, which once built sturdy homes, turned to crafting intricate pieces reflecting the beauty of nature he loved. Each stone and metal creation by Bob was not merely an accessory but a piece of wearable art imbued with stories and care.

His legacy is carried forward by his sons, Austin (Rebeka) Buehler of Herscher, Illinois, and Dylan (Destini) Buehler of Queen Creek, Arizona; his adored grandchildren, Ashton, Henry, Oaklyn, and one more joyously anticipated. His life story is shared among his siblings Roxanne (Mike) Thompson of DeKalb, Beverly Buehler of The Villages, Florida, Cheryl (Mull) Buehler of DeKalb, Kimberly (Dennis) Hackler of Ottawa, Lonnie (Marianne) Buehler of DeKalb, and Rodney (Meredith Orstead) Buehler of DeKalb, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in passing were his loving parents and his brother Richard Buehler.

Bob's memory will forever sparkle like a finely cut gem in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Much like his memory, his creations will continue to shimmer in the lives of those he touched.

A celebration of life will be held from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at DeKalb Elks Lodge, 209 South Annie Glidden Road.
