RICHARD DON’TE (“Tay”) L. KIMBLE was born on April 11, 1987, to Tasha Kimble and Richard Naylor Jr. , he preceded him in death. At an early age he accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized at Bethlehem Temple church, under the leadership of Pastor J.C. Smith. He was the third of seven children born to Tasha.
Tay, attended Prairie-Hills Junior High school in Markham, IL. His family later moved to Dekalb, IL where he attended Huntley Middle School and graduated from Dekalb High School. After graduation he worked for Fulco in Sycamore, IL and later began employment at CHS, where he worked as a Product Operations supervisor. He took pride in everything he did. Yearly he would have a meeting with the boss and lay out his proposal of why he should get a raise, needless to say annually he received a raise. He obtained his CDL with Hazmat endorsements. With his talented singing/dancing abilities, we all were blessed to be in his presence to hear him sing. He was 4 classes away from receiving his Associates degree in Criminal Justice from Kishwaukee Community College.
Tay, was known for his charismatic, charming and affectionate spirit and leadership. He embraced everyone from all walks of life feel welcomed in his presence filled with joy, laughter, singing, and writing poetry. From a very young age he put a different twist on fashion. He had a way of making everyone around him laugh, while breathing wisdom in them. He definitely was a “Mommas Boy.” Tay loved his daughter, family and friends, so much. His nieces were his pride and joy. He loved giving his nieces nicknames that truly depicted their personalities. When uncle show up or they visit with him, he always gave them candy, money, gifts, make them laugh, while guiding them through many life lessons. His precious baby girl Makyla, and him really enjoyed singing “Just the two of us”. Another favorite song of his was Marvin Sapp “Never could have made it “ and “I believe I can fly” If you knew Tay, you know he will sing and harmonize daily.
Tay’s memory will be cherished by his beautiful daughter, Makyla Kimble; his loving mother, Tasha Kimble; step father, Clarence Copeland; who preceded him in death, six siblings, Treondous, Quincy, Navia, Taneisha, Cordero and Trinity; both preceded him in death, maternal grandparents, Naomi and Tommie Kimble, he preceded him in death, Paternal grandparents, Richard and Marie Naylor; eleven nieces, Aysha, Sienna, Aveyah, Amyah, Aryanne, Amelia, Serenity, Nova, Aaliyah, Armani and Olivia; five maternal aunts and uncles, Gloria (Eddie), Tonya (Solomon), Tina and Gail; she preceded him in death, three paternal aunts and uncles, Angela, Jerome and Tyrone; he preceded him in death; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held from 10am until time of funeral service 11am on Saturday, January 31, 2025 at New Hope Mission Baptist Church, 1201 Twombly Rd, DeKalb, IL 60115.
A repast will be held at Cortland Lions Den, 70 S. Lianos St. Cortland, IL 60112 from 1:30 pm - 4 pm
