Rex F. Lupton, 67, of Shabbona, IL passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2025 at his home after a courageous hard fought battle against cancer.

He was born September 24, 1957, in Shawnee, OK to Donal and Janice (Mallory) Lupton.

Rex was a lifelong self employed paint contractor that took him to numerous places around the United States. He moved to DeKalb in 1992 which became his forever home. Rex enjoyed camping and being on the water, bowling and golfing but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife Donna; his son Jason and his wife Katie (Conboy) of DeKalb, IL, his son Eric and his wife Ashley (Olsen) of DeKalb, IL; his grandkids Kannon, Cooper, Taylor, Mallory, Kyle, Dylann, Maverick and Elainee; his sister Janet McGinness; his brothers Paul, Ronny, Phil and Carl; and numerous nieces and nephews and in-laws.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Gary.

We find comfort in Rex’s legacy as he lives on through lessons taught, love shared and the memories we will cherish forever.

Visitation will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb with service to immediately follow.
