RANDY PETERSON

Randy “Pete” Peterson of DeKalb passed away at his home on September 9, 2023. 

He was born in Lee, IL on March 4, 1957 to Richard and Janice Peterson.

If you knew Randy, you know just how much he loved his family. He and his wife created a family that valued each other above anything else. He found his calling in construction, building beautiful homes and custom pieces all across the Northern Illinois area. When he wasn’t working in carpentry or spending time with his family, he found joy in playing (and beating everyone at) cards, listening to his kids create music, designing and building things with his oldest son, going to the casino, and having deep conversations about the universe and how it works. His only regrets are that he didn’t have more time to spend with his grandchildren (present and future) and not being able to physically attend his youngest son’s wedding.          

Randy is survived by his wife Teri; his children Chris (Trisha), Nate (Abby) and Clayton (Kimberly); his grandchildren Avery and Harper; his siblings Larry Peterson and Shari (Daryl) Barsan; and many extended family members. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, uncle Lloyd Peterson, and aunt Carol Scott. 

The family would like to thank the nurses, patient care techs and staff at Kishwaukee Hospital and NM Cancer Center for their help and dedicated care during Randy’s time at the hospital. 

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 3pm -7pm at Anderson Funeral Home, 2011 S 4th St, DeKalb, IL 60115. Randy’s celebration of life will be on September 30th, from 5-9, at Indian Oaks Country Club in Shabbona, Illinois. Please RSVP to Chris Peterson at 815-761-5781
