PAULA BUEHLER

Paula Marguerite Lillian (Hart) Buehler, 88, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023, at DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center.

She was born December 14, 1934, in Sycamore, Illinois, the daughter of Paul and Genevieve Hart. Paula married John Buehler on January 19, 1952, at St Mary Church in DeKalb and they celebrated over 57 years of married life together.

Paula was employed at Malones Department Store for many years. She also worked at Kishwaukee Hospital, DeKalb Bank and Castle Bank until she retired. She enjoyed spending time visiting with family and friends and was happiest when she was around them. Paula participated in family taffy making parties that spanned over 5 generations. She also enjoyed boat rides looking at the houses on the lake, the Sunday morning coffee tradition with family for decades, and baking treats for family and friends to enjoy. During the past few years, Paula truly enjoyed the company of  everyone who visited her and spending time with her grand-dogs, Charlie and Faith.

She is survived by her children, Roxanne (Mike) Thompson of DeKalb, Beverly Buehler of The Villages, Florida, Cheryl (Mull) Buehler of DeKalb, Kimberly (Dennis) Hackler of Ottawa, Lonnie (Marianne) Buehler of DeKalb, Robert Buehler of Genoa, and Rodney (Meredith Orstead) Buehler of DeKalb; 13 grandchildren, Brian (Mary) Thompson, Chris Buehler, Jeremy (Kristina) Buehler, Matthew (Stephanie) Buehler, Shawn (Luisa) Buehler, Eric (Jenny) Hackler, Heidi Munoz, Stephanie (Patrick) Condon, Sarah (Jonathon) Raclaw, Kyle Buehler, Bridget (Ben) Yochem, Austin (Rebekah) Buehler, Dylan (Destini Mcgriff) Buehler; 20 great-grandchildren; brother, John Hart of Shabbona, and brother-in-law Roger (Nancy) Buehler of Stockton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John in 2009;her son, Richard Buehler in 2006;her brother, Tim Hart and her sister-in-law Dottie Hart. 

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb. Private burial will be held at Afton Cemetery.
