Patrick J. Hickey, 82, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025, at his home surrounded by loved ones.

Pat was a lifelong DeKalb-Sycamore resident. His career spanned over 40 years in the sheet metal industry. Pat and his wife, Ann, met when they were just teenagers. They were married for over 60 glorious years. Pat dedicated his life to his family in numerous ways, but notably, he made the time to go to his children’s and grandchildren’s sports activities. When he wasn’t with family, he found the time to golf, fish, and hunt. Pat was always willing to help anyone in need with his time and many talents. Pat never met a stranger. He touched the lives of many through his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love. Wherever he went—be it the hardware store or a restaurant—he always ran into someone he knew and stopped to chat.
