Norma P. Alley, 101, of Lombard, Illinois, formerly of DeKalb, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Lexington Square Senior Living in Lombard, Illinois.

She was born February 24, 1924, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the second of Paul and Velma (Emry) Marchal’s four children. Norma married Clement Alley of Iowa City on April 11, 1947.

The couple moved to Chicago where Clem attended and graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago School of Industrial Design. They had two daughters, Marsha and Claudia, and the family eventually settled in Lombard, IL. Norma was a homemaker until her daughters approached college age when she went back to work, first at Sears and later at Carson’s. When she and Clem retired they moved to DeKalb where they were members of the First United Methodist Church and where Norma participated in Women’s Circle activities.

She is survived by her daughter Marsha Pobst; her son-in-law Emanuel Haimann; her grandchildren Beth (Andrew Wagner) Pobst, Michael Pobst, Eric (Jordan) Haimann and Benjamin (Sabrina) Haimann; her great grandchildren Miles, Zoey and Max Wagner and Madelyn and Zachary Haimann. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Clement; her daughter Claudia Haimann; her brothers and sisters-in-law Paul and Mary Marchal, Wayne and Betty Marchal; and her sister and brother-in-law Phyllis and Ralph Meyer.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb, with Rev. Jonathan Crail officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
