Norma Jean Hopkins, 83, of Malta, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Oak Crest in DeKalb.

 She was born October 3, 1941, in Malta, Illinois, the daughter of Willard and Carrie (Oakland) Schafer. Norma married Glen H. Hopkins on October 20, 1963 in Malta, Illinois.

 She is survived by her children Gregory (Shelley Lawson) Hopkins, Grant (Sheryl) Hopkins, Laurie (Tony) Farrell and Gary (Catherine) Hopkins; her grandchildren Hailey Hopkins, Alex (Anna) Hopkins, Lauren Hopkins, Garrett (Alicia) Hopkins, Grayson (Morgan Van Der Ploeg) Hopkins, Niamh Farrell, Ciara Farrell, Andrew McComb, Anna McComb (Eddy Garcia), Sophia McComb, and Thomas McComb.

 She was preceded in death by her husband Glen in 1983; her brothers Paul Schafer and Ralph Schafer.

 The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Malta United Methodist Church, 201 E Sprague Street, Malta, with Rev. Jeremiah Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Malta Cemetery.  

 Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2025, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb.
