NORMA J. SHARP

Norma J. Sharp, 95, of DeKalb, died Sunday, May 28, 2023. She was born September 28, 1927, in Morgantown, WV, the daughter of James and Isabell (Moore) Hartley. She was a longtime resident of Louisville, KY before moving to Oak Crest in DeKalb in 2013.

Norma was a graduate of WVU in 1949, having earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She married Robert L. Sharp, also a WVU graduate, in 1949. He preceded her in death in 2004. She was also preceded in death by her sister Dorothy Nagy. Norma had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel. She was very outgoing and loved meeting new people and making new friends.

She is survived by her three children Marcia (Jim) Stoddard of Sycamore, Linda Sharp of Naperville, and Alan (Kathi) Sharp of Hollister, CA; seven grandchildren Brad (Holly) Stoddard, Steve (Mimi Zhang) Stoddard, Michelle (Cory) Crowley, Ryan (Alexandra) Widick, Ashley Widick, Kyle (Hilary) Sharp, and Alison (Greg) Howard; and ten great-grandchildren.

There will be no visitation or services.                                                                                              

Arrangements are being handled by Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to Oak Crest Good Samaritan Fund.
