Michelle S Clayton of Cortland passed away on December 20, 2024 at Kishwaukee Hospital.  She was born on June 27,1971 to Jerry Guymon and Susan Jacobson. 

She is survived by her husband Dave; Children Michael and Matthew; Father Jerry Guymon; Siblings Amy(Brett) Kennett and Kyle(Jennifer) Guymon; In-Laws Sara(Rick) Clayton; brother-in-law Rick (Laurie) Clayton; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother Sue Guymon, brother Derek Guymon and grandparents. 

First and foremost, Michelle was a wonderful mother.  Her sons, Michael and Matthew were Michelle's whole world.  She supported them in every aspect of their lives. She was so proud of her boys.  You could always find her on the bleachers cheering them on in whatever sport they were playing. She was their biggest fan.  Michelle was an active member of DeKalb Boosters and spent many years being " Team Mom " for Michael and Matthew and their various teams. Michelle was the most caring, loving, and supportive person. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved all her nieces and nephews dearly.

Michelle was a 1989 graduate of DeKalb High School.  She worked at MetLife for 28 years as a Senior Implementation Leader and was widely admired for her deep knowledge, willingness to help anyone who asked, and her ability to find humor in any situation.  Her teammates will miss her kindness and friendship.  Michelle was one of a kind and will never be forgotten. 

A visitation will be held on Monday December 23, 2024 from 10am until time of service 1pm at Anderson Funeral Home, 2011 S 4th, DeKalb, IL 60115. Interment will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery.
