MELVIN WESTLAKE

Melvin Westlake, 91, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away Monday, March 27, 2023, at DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center.

He was born July 8, 1931, in Sycamore, Illinois, the son of Earle Willis and Susan Dorothy (King) Westlake. Melvin married Carol on October 12, 1991.

Melvin was a graduate of Sycamore High School class of 1949. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force, having served during Korean War from 1949 -1953. 

He is survived by his children, Greg (Sheila) Westlake of TN and Dorothy (Tom) Anhalt of Sycamore; granddaughter, Autumn (Adrian) Yarbrough; great-grandchildren, Travon Larry and Avyion Thompson.  

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Delores Westlake; his wife Carol Westlake; his parents; brothers, Orville Westlake and Milton Westlake; sisters, Margery Mowers and Julia Dawson; granddaughter, Becky Westlake.

Interment of cremated remains will be at Charter Grove Cemetery, in Sycamore.
