MARY PATRICIA "PATTI" DAILEY

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Mother Mary Patricia "Patti" Dailey (née Gresham).  Patti entered into eternal life with her Lord and Savior during the early morning hours of August 25, 2023 at Accent Care Hospice in Naperville, IL after suffering a brain hemorrhage on August 16. 

Patti was born on January 27, 1936 to parents Dale & Mary (nee Thiel) Gresham in Danville, IL.  Patti was raised in Evanston, IL where she attended St. Nicholas Catholic School K-8 and Evanston High School before graduating from Crystal Lake High School. 

Patti along with her husband "Daddio" accepted a job offer in 1968 to manage the Kishwaukee Country Club. Together  they made many life long friendships and memories with staff and members alike.  Patti and Daddio aspired to be business owners and left the KCC after 11 years of service.  They opened Daddio's Den, a small local bar that was a popular meeting place where fun times were had by all.  In the early 80's they closed the Den and purchased the Shamrock Bar & Grill. Patti worked tirelessly until they sold their business in 1990.

Patti was a beautiful and amazing woman with a dedicated  work ethic. She would graciously welcome patrons from all walks of life into their work places  and put them at ease.  Her genuine kindness would earn her the respect and admiration of all those who knew her. Always selfless and loving, mom was our prayer warrior. Our dear mother was full of beauty and grace. In her retirement Patti enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed many trips to Sarasota and beautiful Lido Beach. We will forever cherish all the beautiful memories she left us with. 

Patti is survived by her children Debra Calbow Thompson, Michael (Diane) Calbow, and Vanessa (Curtis Pardridge) Van Bogart; her grandchildren, Ryan, Elizabeth, Katie, Cameron, Christopher, Abby, and Dan; her great grandchildren, Gavin, Justin, Adam, and Chase; and also her first husband and friend Norm Calbow.

Patti was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Richard "Daddio" Dailey in 2014; husband John Van Bogart in 1966; Parents Dale and Mary Gresham; and brother Jerry Gresham.

A private Catholic Funeral Mass was held at Christ the Teacher Parish in DeKalb on August 29th.  Interment followed at St. Marys Cemetery in DeKalb.

The family would like to extend our deepest appreciation for the excellent medical care our mother received from the Neurology team and staff at Central DuPage Hospital and Dr. Ilaxi Patel, DO Northwestern Medicine.
