Mary Bradtmueller passed away on November 27, 2025, at The Holmstad in Batavia, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on April 16, 1933, to John Henry William Piel and Alma Lydia Tritch. On August 12, 1956, she married the love of her life, Dr. Weldon Bradtmueller.

She is survived by her children—Elizabeth Taylor, Penelope (Dale) Klein, Kurt (Rhonda) Bradtmueller, and Pamela (Randy) Duncan. Mary was the proud grandmother of ten: Catherine (Hendrik) Wermeier, Hannah Taylor, Kurt (Amber) Bradtmueller Jr., Steven (Eliany) Bradtmueller, John Bradtmueller, Jennifer (Willis) Southern, Tammi (Scott) Gibson, Tracey Williams, Angie (Bruce) Daily, Reda Knalls, and Yancy Willams Jr. She was also the cherished great-grandmother of many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon; her stepdaughter, Marcia Williams; and her parents.

A devoted mother, wife, teacher, and servant of God, Mary spent more than 26 years in the classroom and many years serving her churches. Her faith guided her, her kindness shaped others, and her gentle spirit touched every life she encountered. She leaves behind a legacy of love.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday December 3, 2025 from 10am until time of funeral service 12pm at Anderson Funeral Home, 2011 S 4th St, DeKalb.  Interment at Fairview Park Cemetery.
