MARY ANN JOHNSON

Mary went to be home with her Lord at 81 on January 15, 2023 with her family by her side. She was born in and Pocahontas Arkansas then moved to Shabbona Illinois during her high school years. On April 9, 1960 Mary was married to Richard A Johnson of Shabbona, Illinois.

Mary loved the Lord and her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, and great grams. She loved her church, Bethany Road Bible Church that she attended for 60 years even tho it has changed names a few times. She was an Awana leader, the church secretary, involved in the church choir and many other ministries in the church. Mary was involved in a community Women’s Bible Study as a member and a leader. Mary owned her own upholstery business, Mary’s Upholstery Place, for 37 years.

Mary is survived by her three sons, Eric (Michele) Johnson, Nathan (April) Johnson, Tom (Kris) Johnson; one daughter, Elizabeth (James) Zarek; fifteen grandchildren, Addie Johnson, Tate Johnson, Zachery (Karen) Johnson, Jacob Johnson, CearaJohnson, Jason Olson, Keith (Melissa) Olson, Makayla Zarek, Sean Zarek, Logan Zarek, and Allison Fowler; four great- grandchildren, Hudson Olson, Anabelle Olson, Noah Johnson, and Benaiah Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard; her parents, JC and Anna Jackson; brothers, John Jackson and Ben Jackson.

A visitation will be held on Saturday January 21, 2023 from 9:30am until time of funeral service at 10:30am at Bethany Road Bible Church, 2215 Bethany Rd, DeKalb, IL 60115. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
