Marilyn Mae Martinson, 87, of Hinckley, Illinois, passed away peacefully November 23, 2022, at the DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center.
She was born December 2, 1934, in Waterman, Illinois, the daughter of Irvin and Edith (Parkins) Liddick. Marilyn married Gerald Eugene Martinson on September 12, 1952 and they shared 69 years together.
Marilyn was a very social person, which made her a great waitress, bartender and cook. She worked at Uptown in DeKalb and Sycamore. In Hinckley, at the Brown Pub, and at JJ’s Plow Inn.
She is survived by her son, Terry (Arleen) Martinson; daughter, Brenda Curts (the late Dan); grandchildren, Eric Martinson, Stephanie and Jacob Curts; brother, Ken Liddick; several nieces and nephews; her beloved pet, Daisy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerry in 2021; two daughters, Paula Sue and Lori Jean; her parents; sister-in-law, Gladys (Poff) Liddick.
The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb, with the Rev. Jeremiah Thompson of Malta Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Creston.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, at the funeral home.
