Marian L. Buchholz, 90, of DeKalb, IL, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center in DeKalb, Illinois.
She was born July 25, 1933, in Bensenville, IL., the daughter of William and Marie (Pieplow) Krueger. Marian married Wilbert E. Buchholz on March 1, 1958 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Elgin, IL. She was a homemaker and also farmed with her husband. Marian was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Hinckley. She was member of the ladies aid and served in various activities in the church. She was also a member of the Farm Bureau.
She is survived by her three sons, Russell (Jayne) Buchholz of Malta, Dean (Karen) Buchholz of Shabbona and Robert (Bonnie) Buchholz of Waterman; her five grandchildren, Allen and Eric Buchholz of Malta, Sheila (Jason) Cregier of Malta, Morgan (Katie) Buchholz of Shabbona and Kailyn (Dalton) Carr of Waterman; and one great grandchild, Blake Cregier of Malta.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilbert on September 5, 1998; her sister, Helen Piske; two brothers, Erwin Krueger and Wilbert Krueger; one niece and two nephews.
Special thanks to the staff at the DeKalb County Nursing and Rehab Center for all their care for Marian over the last several years. It’s greatly appreciated. Thank you Pastor Bulgeman for your many years of spiritual guidance for Marian and thank you to Pastor Barbey for your recent care.
The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 12760 Lee Rd, Hinckley, with Rev. Barbey officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Hinckley, IL.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 12:00 p.m. at the church.
