MARGARET MELLOTT

On Tuesday January 17, 2023, Margaret D. Mellott (Johnson) a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, peacefully passed away. She was 90 years old, born to Roy and Ruth Johnson, and grew up in Downers Grove, Illinois.
 Margaret was preceded in death by loving son Kevin, as well as her parents Roy & Ruth (Downers Grove), four sisters (June, Shirley Judy, and Lana), and her brother (Robert), as well as several brother in laws, a sister-in-law and nieces.
 Margaret, also known as Mom, Grandma, Nana, and “GG Meg,” is survived by four loving children, 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; Kerry Mellott (Sharon) Malta, IL [Matt (Mary), Kerianne, Jamie (John), Rebecca (Travis)], Craig Mellott [Tamara (Jeremy)], Kevin (deceased), [Jeffrey (Jennifer), Jennifer (Jeremy)], Kristin Mellott Ashenhurst (Anthony) Chicago, IL [Sarah Jayne (Dave), Alexa, Grace] and Kim Mellott Armour (Larry) Elgin, IL [Ryan (Lindsay), Jay (Shelly) and Kyle]. 
She adored all her grandchildren (13 grand and 16 great grand) and happily educated them on her many adventures in life! Including living in Illinois, Florida, New Mexico and Texas. She also adored her many nieces and nephews whom she loved to spend time sharing stories and having good laughs.
Margaret was a generous and giving soul even if that meant she’d be the last to be taken care of.  She will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
 There will not be a public service, however donations in Margaret’s name can be directed to the Dekalb county meals on wheels via the voluntary action center of Dekalb who’s friendliness and assurance of food warmed her heart. https://vacdk.networkforgood.com/projects/101300-main-giving-page
