LOTTE L. ZIEGLER

Lotte L. Ziegler, 87, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023, at Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb.

She was born December 10, 1935 in Poland, the daughter of Wilhelm and Mathild (Hille) Krentz. Lotte married Gerhard on June 7, 1957 in Germany.

Lotte was employed as a nurses-aide in Germany prior to marriage, after marriage she worked at Brody’s Coat Factory. When Brody’s closed she became a cook at DeKalb High School. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and flower gardening. Lotte liked cats and loved feeding birds.  Lotte believed in angels and she was a avid collector of hummels. She enjoyed cooking and baking German food for her family.

She is survived by her husband, Gerhard of 65 years of marriage; her two children, Sabina Richmond of Rochelle and Herman (Chris) Ziegler of Nebraska; three grandchildren, Zachary Richmond of Rochelle, Ashlyn Patton of Colorado, Mitch Carpenter of Nebraska; one great-grandchild, Evie Patton of Colorado; sister, Mariechan Schnalke, Germany; several nieces and nephews in Germany and USA.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Private family graveside service will be held.
