Lena Gaul, 94, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away Friday, July 31, 2026, at DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center.

She was born July 18, 1932, in Madison, Wisconsin the daughter of John and Leona (Landon) Morrison. 

Lena was employed at Del Monte in DeKalb, Cards Unlimited in DeKalb and Ideal Industries, where she worked for 25 years before retiring in 1997.  She also assisted with lunches for Sycamore Elementary Schools. Lena enjoyed bowling and participated in several women’s leagues at Four Seasons in Sycamore. She also loved flower gardening and spending time with her family. Lena was always on the go.

She is survived by her daughters Carolyn (Douglas) of Keokuk, IA, Donna (Dennis) Whaley of Earlville, IL, and Debbie (Robert) McClain of Ennis, MT; her son Russell Ziegler of Sycamore; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her son Terry Ziegler; her parents John and Leona Morrison; her sisters Betty White and Mary Thomason; her brother Johnny Morrison; three great grandchildren; and her son-in-law Don Douglas. 

 Private family Interment will be held at East Pierce Cemetery in Maple Park.
