Kay F. Tripp, 84, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Serenity Hospice and home in Oregon, Illinois.

She was born March 6, 1941, in Steward, Illinois, the daughter of Harlan and Evelyn (Aurand) Strawbridge. Kay married Gary Rodger Tripp on Oct. 25, 1962.

Kay enjoyed puzzles, playing bingo and visiting casinos. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and loved her pet Lexi.

She is survived by her children Jim (Cynthia) Tripp and Sandra (Michael) Shoemaker; her 12 grandchildren Riley (Sarah) Tripp, Bradley Tripp, Wesley (Brittany) Tripp, Jeffrey Tripp, Casey Tripp, Joey Tripp, Kenny Tripp, Christina (Matthew) Carpenter, Jennifer Keffer, Rebecca (Paul) Shoemaker, Michael (Brittany) Shoemaker, Jr, and Matthew (Courtney) Shoemaker; her 19 great-grand children and 3 great-great grandchildren; her special friend Robert Fleetwood; her sister Janet Hayes Stewart and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gary; her parents and many siblings.

The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 28, 2025, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb with Rev. John Kalebaugh officiating.   

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
