Junior Andrew Sexton, 97, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center.
He was born in Greeneville, Tennessee, the son of George and Sarah (Miller) Sexton. Junior married Nadine Cristallo on January 19, 1973 in Sycamore, Illinois.
Junior retired from City of DeKalb Street Department.
He is survived by his son Joe (Jean) Sexton; his stepson Bill (Jo) Vodden; and his stepdaughter Rosemary Takeda; ten grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Nadine; his daughters Sue Garcia, Kathy Adams; his son Jim Sexton and his stepson Bobby Vodden.
Visitation will be from 2 pm until the time of service at 3 pm Friday, February 13, 2026 at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb, with Pastor Matthew Johnson of Sycamore Baptist Church Officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb.
The family would like to thank the staff at DeKalb County Nursing Center for the comfort and support shown to Junior throughout his stay.
