Joyce C. Listy, 83, of Sycamore, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb.

 She was born December 31, 1940, in DeKalb, Illinois, the daughter of William and Barbara (Benson) Potts. Joyce married Eugene Listy on December 18, 1965 at First Lutheran Church in DeKalb.

 Joyce was known as the oldest in her close circle of lifelong friends the “DeKalb 9”. She was always willing to help and always had a smile. Joyce loved talking to and meeting new people. Her family meant everything to her. She enjoyed traveling, history and was an avid book reader.

 Joyce  was a graduate of DeKalb High School class of 1959.  She was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church in DeKalb and worked at Curran Contracting for many years.

 She is survived by her daughter, Angela Listy of Sycamore; her four legged daughter Penny Marie; brother Jon (Cherry) Potts; sisters-in-law Pam Listy and Alice Schmidt; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene in 2019, and her son Matthew Jon Listy in 2018.

The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the First Lutheran Church, 324 North 3rd Street DeKalb, with Rev. Dr. Janet Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore.

 Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2024, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb.
