John “Mickey” Franklin, 73, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away Friday, December 27, 2024, at Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb.

He was born January 22, 1951, in DeKalb, Illinois, the son of David and Margaret (Gittleson) Franklin.

He is survived by his son Joshua (Andrea) Franklin; his grandson Christopher; his siblings James (Mary) Franklin, Sharon Thompson, and Jill (Lee) Parrish; many nieces and nephews; and the mother of his son Kathee Franklin.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law Donald Thompson.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Anderson Funeral Home. A private family service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Interment of cremated remains will be at a later date at Fairview Park Cemetery, in DeKalb.
