John Arthur “Snuffy” Anderson, 92, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb.

John was born November 1, 1932 in DeKalb, Illinois, the son of Arthur and Inona (Hess) Anderson.  He graduated from DeKalb Township High School class of 1951.  John married the love of his life Vivian on December 27, 1953 at First Lutheran Church in DeKalb, Illinois.  They have been married for 71 years.

John was a veteran of the United States Army.

John worked as an electrician until he retired at the age of 65. He was a member of IBEW local union #384, Rockford, IL

He is survived by his wife Vivian; his daughters Anna Anderson and Paula Anderson (Mike Phillips); his grandsons Anthony Orrichio and Sean Phillips.

He was preceded in death by his brother James Anderson.

The Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb, with Full Military Honors by DeKalb American Legion Post 66. 

The Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb.
