JEFFREY MORAN Obituary

Jeffrey “Jeff” Moran, 61, Sycamore, Ill., passed away in his home on May 15, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Jeff was born in Sycamore, on August 2, 1962, along with his twin sister, Patti Carnahan, to James and Laura Moran (Fuquay).

Jeff and Tina met in 1984 and married in June 1991. They welcomed twins in June 1995, their son Adam and daughter Megan.

Jeff was a devoted husband, loving father, and fiercely loyal friend. To know Jeff was to love him. There are so many things that will be missed about Jeff, but most of all his smile. He had a boisterous laugh and contagious smile, it was hard to not be happy around him. Jeff loved the outdoors; golfing, bike riding, walking, you name it. He spent countless hours on the golf course with friends and family. If he wasn’t on the golf course you would most likely find him riding his bike all around Sycamore and DeKalb.

Jeff was a kind-hearted person and always willing to help his friends and family. Spending time with his family and friends was the thing that brought him the most joy. Jeff enjoyed spending time with his siblings, Ron “Corky” Moran, Cathy Ferguson, and Patti Carnahan.

When Jeff wasn’t spending his day working as a graphic designer, he was out adventuring with his family. He took many trips to the West Coast to visit his brother, Darrell Moran, and sister, Vicki Morrill. Jeff, Tina, and Megan also took trips together such as tropical cruise and many other family vacations.

Jeff was a die-hard Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. Much to his surprise (and many others), when the Cubs won the World Series in 2016 he could not stop talking about it. He was a proud and devoted fan. Along with his love for sports, he enjoyed live music the most. He went to numerous concerts. He even took his daughter, Megan, to her very first concert.

Jeff is survived by his wife of 33 years, Tina,– his daughter Megan (Jake Roudabush), his siblings, Darell Moran, Ron “Corky” Moran (Diane Moran), Cathy Ferguson, Patti Carnahan, his father-in-law, Richard Grasty, his brothers and sister-in-law, Richy Grasty,  Chuck Grasty and Teresa Smith (Edwin Smith), along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son – Adam Moran, his parents, James and Laura Moran, his sister, Vicki (Mike) Morrill, his brothers-in-law, Charles Long and Jon Carnahan, his mother-in-law Mary Bray, his step-mother-in-law, Phyllis Grasty – and his sister-in-law, Connie Moran.

Jeff was beloved by so many and will be sorely missed.
