James Casey, III of DeKalb passed away on Saturday October 18, 2025 at Kishwaukee Hospital with his sister by his side.
He was born on March 16, 1947 in Harrodsburg, Kentucky the son of James Casey Jr and Gladys Kidd.
He was an Electrician at Wurlitzer and was the Chief Engineer at WLBK.
James was an amateur radio operator, call sign WA9KVJ. He served his country proudly in the United States Army from 1970-1972. He graduated from Kishwaukee College and Devry Institute. He was a Masonic 32nd degree.
He is survived by his sister Susan Casey; uncle Douglas Kidd and caregiver Cindy Dolder.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held on Saturday October 25, 2025 from 9:30am to time of service 10:30am at Anderson Funeral Home, 2011 S 4th St, DeKalb. Interment will follow at Fairview Park cemetery, with military honors.
