HAENG CHA LUNDBERG Obituary

Haeng Cha Lundberg, 82, of DeKalb, IL, passed away peacefully at home on January 9, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Japan, the daughter of Chang Woo Yi and Im Sun Na.  She grew up in South Korea and met her loving Husband Charles Lundberg while he was there serving in the Army.  They were married while still in South Korea before moving to DeKalb, Illinois. She worked at General Electric for many years. She was a very hard-working woman who took pride in her job.  Haeng retired early, which allowed her to spend time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she greatly treasured.
Haeng also had a love for animals, especially her dog Jack. She loved to eat vanilla ice cream with him among other treats she shared.  She enjoyed shopping, working in the garden and she also loved to cook. She would make amazing food,  that her family loved to eat. It is said by her loved ones that she made the best fried chicken.
Haeng developed Dementia and although her memory faded, her personality did not.  Haeng loved to laugh and reminisce.  She enjoyed telling stories and taking care of her “big baby” husband.  She always wanted to know “where you been?” when you walked in and “where you goin?” when you left followed by a “luv-a you”.  Haeng may have forgotten what day it was, but she never forgot who her loved ones were.  She enjoyed seeing them up until the very last day she left this world to go be with her family that preceded her in death.
Haeng is and will be missed greatly by her husband Charles Lundberg; her children, Lisa Buffenbarger (Brad) and Patricia Koca (Rick); her grandchildren, Leah Graceffa (Ryan), Julia Goshko (Joseph) and Katherine Roberts (John); her great-grandchildren, Keira, Elizabethand Cecilia; her sister, Kay Donofrio and many nieces and nephews.
Haeng’s family would like to give a special thanks to Heartland Hospice for the wonderful end of life care and support provided.
A private service was held in January with immediate family.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
