Gerald “Jerry” Stryker, 55, of Lee, Illinois, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2023, at his home.
He was born June 23, 1968, in DeKalb, Illinois, the son of Wayne and Hazel (Hart) Stryker.
Gerald was raised on Stryker Egg Farm in Waterman. He was employed at Farmers Factory in Lee, then over the road truck driver, Caterpillar in Montgomery, and most recently for Advantage Contractor Solutions in Elgin. Gerald volunteered for the Lee Fire Department and was a member of St James Church in Lee. He enjoyed fishing with his kids and playing cards. Gerald was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs.
He is survived by his children Miranda (Benjamin) Stoddard of Oceanside, California and Davis Stryker of Shabbona, Illinois; the mother of his children Courtney Stryker of Shabbona, Illinois; his siblings David (Mary) Stryker of Waterman, Illinois, Duane (Becky) Stryker of Lacey, Washington, Linda Gorbet of St Petersburg, Florida, Ann Prestegaard of Franklin, Indiana, Kathryn Stryker of Palmetto, Florida, Donna (Donald) Jarman of Toivola, Michigan and Margaret (Chris) Brotzman of Beach Park, Illinois, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Helen Stryker; his brothers-in-law Gene Gorbet and Henry Prestegaard.
The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb, with Rev. Dennis Campbell officiating. Private Interment of cremated remains will be at St James Calvary Cemetery in Lee.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1200 p.m. at the funeral home.
