Gae Anne (Barringer) Sonnenberg, 62, of DeKalb, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2024 in her home.  She was born April 6, 1962, in DeKalb, Illinois the daughter of Warren and Joan (Hardt) Barringer.
Gae married James Sonnenberg in Darien, WI in 2010.
She was a Manager for Rossi/Nations Pizza and Foods in Waterman and Schaumburg, Illinois for 20 years. The last ten years of her life were spent caring for her aging parents. 
Gae enjoyed Pepsi, playing softball and bowling, spending time with her friends, family, and especially her grandkids.  She was a fan of Chicago sports teams and NASCAR, especially Rusty Wallace.
She was preceded in death by her mother; her son Benjamin Schultz; and her brother Brad Barringer.
Survivors include her husband Jim Sonnenberg of Delavan, WI; her daughter Faith (Ryan Brown) Schultz of DeKalb; her father Ray Barringer of Shabbona; her three grandchildren Camdin, Kalab, and Kayden; her two brothers Randy (Kendra) Barringer of Kingsland, GA and Terry (Steffanie) Barringer of DeKalb; also many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Gae’s life will be held Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the DeKalb Elks Lodge, 209 S. Annie Glidden Rd, DeKalb IL 60115.
