Evelyn Sanderson, 89, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb.

 She was born May 7, 1935, in Giddings, Texas, the daughter of Charles and Emma Gaeke. Evelyn married Richard Sanderson on April 30 1955, in Oak Park.

 Evelyn was a lifelong member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Lee. She was the former Milan Township registrar and NIU registrar.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, bowling, sewing, dancing, gardening and cooking.

 She is survived by four daughters, Cheryl (Mike) Bentley, Pam (Doug) Darrow, Diana (Dirk) Gunderson and Beth (Darrell) Johnson; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren.

 She was preceded in death by her husband Richard; her daughter Deb Dale; son-in-law Gordon Wade; her parents; in-laws Ray (Ruth) Sanderson; brothers Marvin and Charles Gaeke Jr. and many other family members.

 The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb. A private burial will be held at Union Cemetery, Steward. The service will be livestreamed at
