Eugene R. Cook passed away on December 7, 2024 at 87 years of age. 
Eugene was born in Compton Illinois February 2, 1937.
Raised in Rochelle Illinois and graduated from Rochelle Township High School in 1956,
Gene and Janice A. Pest married on December 23, 1958. Eugene is survived by his wife Janice, and their 4 children, Renee (Rodger) Pinnick, Bryan (Kimberly) Cook, Troy (Elizabeth) Cook and Andrew (Leisa) Cook and 10 grandchildren and 16 great grand children. He is also survived by his sister Marie Barth and her 2 sons Jerry and Michael.  
Gene joined the Marine Corps right out of high school and was in the Corps for 20 years.  After his retirement, he worked for the US Postal Service for 15 years.  Gene and Janice spent 17 years living in Ladysmith Wisconsin, where Gene could pursue one of his favorite hobbies, fishing. 
Gene was a good family man, father and husband. His final years were spent in Steward Illinois, with his wife Janice, near several of his children.
A memorial service will be held on February 7th at 2:00 pm at the Rec Center, 802 Jones, in Rochelle Illinois.
