ELOISE L OVERTON

Eloise L. Overton, 87, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026, at her home.

She was born September 27, 1938, in DeKalb, Illinois, the daughter of Carl and Etta (Allen) Wiltse. Eloise married Donald Overton on June 11, 1960, in DeKalb, and together they shared nearly 66 wonderful years of marriage.

Eloise was employed at Northern Illinois University for many years. After retiring, she enjoyed going to lunch with her friends and former colleagues. She loved watching Gunsmoke and other western shows with her husband. Eloise also enjoyed playing the piano and was a devoted Chicago Cubs fan.

She is survived by her loving husband, Donald; her children, Geri Overton, Kenneth (Tammy) Overton, Nancy (Bob) Skelley, Donna (James) Brantley, and Donald F. Overton; her grandchildren, Kori (Nate) Pennell, Jessica Pinion, Tegan Elias, Sarah Pinion, Molly Matheny, Elizabeth Pinion, Madeline Overton, Kenneth Overton, and Samantha Overton; her brother, Allen (Coleen) Wiltse; her sister-in-law, Luella Overton; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Sunny.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2026, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb. Burial will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
