Drucilla “Peggy” May Walt, 89, of Cortland, Illinois, passed away peacefully Monday, March 18, 2024, at her home.

 She was born July 31, 1934, the daughter of William and Sarah (Reynolds) Davis. Peggy married Albert R. ‘Sonny’ Walt Jr. on September 15, 1956, in Rochelle.

 Peggy was raised in Ashton, Illinois. She was a graduate of Ashton High School Class of 1952 and was the Ashton 1953 Farmers Picnic Queen. She was an avid golfer, bowler and gardener. She enjoyed crafting, quilting and sewing. Peggy made beautiful handmade greeting cards. She will be lovingly missed by her family.

 She is survived by her two sons, Jamie (Michaelle) Walt of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and Dan (Karla) Walt of DeKalb; her grandchildren, Clint (Valerie) Walt, Lindsey (Ryan) Wallin, and Tyler Walt; two great-grandchildren, Liam and Klara Wallin; and several nieces and nephews.

 She was preceded in death by her husband Albert, her parents and her brother Robert Davis.

 Visitation will be from 11am to 2pm Friday, March 22, 2024, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb. A private family graveside service will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb.
