Dorothy Lorraine Arndt, 89, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away Friday, August 2, 2024, at River Bluff Nursing Home in Rockford, Illinois after a long illness.

 She was born January 18, 1935, in DeKalb, Illinois, the daughter of Benjamin and Beulah (Govig) Lucas. Dorothy married Donald Arndt December 10, 1955, in DeKalb.

 Dorothy graduated from DeKalb High School class of 1952 and attended Rock Valley College. She retired from Dan-Car Sprinkler Co. as an administrative assistant. Dorothy was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Rockton, Illinois. She lived in the Durand and Rockton areas for fifty six years.

 She is survived by her two sons Dean (Christie) Arndt and Duane (Deanna) Arndt; her granddaughter Victoria Arndt.

 She was preceded in death by her husband Donald in 1978; and her parents.

Dorothy’s family would like to acknowledge the exceptional care she received from the staff at River Bluff Nursing Home and Mercy Health Hospice.

 A private graveside service will be held at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb.
