Dean Michael Gualandri, 61, of DeKalb, died Monday, April 21, 2025 at DeKalb County Nursing Center.

He was born July 23, 1963, in Peru, Illinois, the son of Michael A. and Patricia A. (Liss) Gualandri.

Dean was a graduate of Saint Bede Academy in Peru, Illinois and The Art Institute of Chicago.  He was employed with several scene companies in Chicago, and a musician in several bands in Chicago.

Mr. Gualandri was an incredible artist, worked on portraiture, landscapes, and still life.  He painted backdrops for theatrical performances, dance events, home theaters, large-scale parties and events.

He is survived by his sisters Lynn M. (Gualandri) Weimer of Titusville, Florida and Denise J. Gualandri of DeKalb, Illinois.  He was preceded in death by his parents and all four grandparents.

Funeral services and burial will be private.
