Daniel K. Schroeder, 57, passed away on November 18, 2024, at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago after a year and a half long battle with cancer. Born on June 7, 1967, in Sycamore, Illinois, Dan was the beloved son of Art and Janet Schroeder and a lifelong resident of his hometown. Dan graduated from Sycamore H.S. in 1985 and worked as a CNC Machinist for many years.

Dan had a deep love for all things outdoors, especially the hikes he shared with his girlfriend of 10 years, Mindy Schmidt. He loved airshows, birds, plants…in fact he was somewhat of a self-proclaimed botanist.

He is survived by his parents, Art and Janet Schroeder; his girlfriend, Mindy, whom the family gratefully acknowledges for her selfless care during his cancer battle; his children, Ashley (Tyler) Black, Jessica Miller, Jake Schroeder; his siblings, Darin (Jackie) Schroeder, Steve (Jenny) Schroeder, Tammy (Jason) Beinarauskas; his grandchildren, Emmett, Rory, and Millie Miller. Dan also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, & cousins.

He is preceded in death by his Grandparents, Walter & Dorothy Blizzard of Madison, WI and Clifford & Erna Schroeder of Sweet Springs, MO.

Cremation will take place at Anderson Funeral Home. The family will hold a private memorial at a later date.
