Casey E. Conro, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away at home on Monday, February 23, 2026, at the age of 43.

Casey was born on May 3, 1983, in Woodstock, Illinois. His family then moved to Genoa, Illinois, where he spent much of his childhood and then graduated from Genoa- Kingston High School in 2000.
Casey was a loving son, father, and fiancé. Although gruff on the outside, he was known for his huge heart, goofiness, and endless compassion for animals. Working with children as a student monitor at Clinton-Rosette Middle School brought him immense joy in his final years. Casey enjoyed many hobbies, including music, RC cars, road trips, and flying kites.
Casey is survived by his fiancé, Stormy Erisman; his mother, Lisa Conro; his father, Doug Conro; his daughter, Ivy Conro; and the mother of his child, Megan Conro; along with many dear friends and extended family.
In honor of Casey’s memory, in lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in his name to Tails Humane Society, DeKalb, for care of the homeless cat population.
