Carolyn Ann Leifheit, 82, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at her home.

She was born December 19, 1942, in DeKalb, Illinois, the daughter of Louis and Esther (Sarvella) Riebock.

Carolyn was owner and operator of the Countryside Pet Motel for thirteen years and prior to that she was employed at Northern Illinois University for 36 years.

Carolyn was an avid bowler and recently received her 55 year watch and pin from the Women's National Bowling Association and she enjoyed baking and bringing to treats to her various bowling leagues, friends and family .  Carolyn loved gardening and took great pride in her yard and home. Her thoughtfulness and caring heart will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her sister Marilyn Riebock, daughter-in-law Lori Leifheit (Mike) Donnelly and her grandchildren Ian Leifheit and Rachael Leifheit and her dog Emma Mae.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her infant brother William and her sisters Marian Boyd and Betty Edwards.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb. Interment of cremated remains will be at a later date at Fairview Park Cemetery, in DeKalb.
