Carl “Chuck” Calderini Jr., 79, of Sycamore, Illinois, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024, at his home.
He was born July 21, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Carl and Josephine (Sojka) Calderini.  Carl was married to Delphine Szczypiorski for 57 years.
Carl served in the United States Navy from 1967 – 1971.  He worked as a diesel mechanic at National Lift Truck in Elmhurst, retiring in 2000.  He had an interest in Toastmasters International and enjoyed gardening, reading, and spending time with his grandchildren.  Carl is a train and woodworking enthusiast.
He is survived by his wife Del; his children Paula (Rich) Coon of Sycamore, Pamela (Burgess) Watts of Warrenville, Michael Calderini of Sycamore, Mark (Shirley) Calderini of St. Charles, Delinda (Doug) Johnson of Sycamore, and Christopher (Mandy) Calderini of Raymond; his grandchildren, Kaytlin Watts, Krysta (Dan) Taylor, Austin Calderini, Lauren (Sam) Gardner, Kara Watts, Amanda Velichkoff, Megan Coon, Vanessa Velichkoff, Cameron Calderini, Brandon Coon, Oliver Calderini, Emmaline Calderini, Charlotte Calderini, and Aiden Calderini; his two great-grandchildren Charles Dean Gardner and Olivia Jo Gardner. Also, his brother, Jack Calderini along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter Abigail Coon. 
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2024, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb. The Celebration of Life will follow at 3:00 p.m., with full Military Honors by the DeKalb American Legion.
