BARBARA LESLIE JOHNSON

Barbara Leslie Johnson, 58, was born in Chicago, IL on October 3, 1964. She passed away at home in DeKalb, IL on March 2, 2023.

She graduated from Central High School in Burlington, IL, class of 1982. She later graduated from Kishwaukee College’s nursing program in 2005. During life, Barbara radiated positivity and kindness, which was infectious to anyone who met her. She dedicated her life to being a healer, working as a nurse for 17 years. Whether it was listening to her vast playlist or singing some karaoke, Barbara loved music and loved being around people. She also deeply loved her family. 

Her legacy of kindness will be remembered by anyone who ever met her and will live on through her children, grandchildren and all future generations to come. 

She is survived by her parents, Paul and Sandra Johnson, Sr.; her children, Brittany (Mark Nicholson) Johnson, Justine (Chris) Lovell, Timothy Galitz and Nicholas Gailtz; her grandchildren, CJ, Cadan, Faith, Caylee, Dyson, Emma, Madison and

 her brother, Paul M. (Cathy) Johnson Jr.; nieces, Samantha and Briana.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Leslie and Margaret Johnson, Clancy and Eloise Shewalter. 

Barbara loved a good gathering so in honor of that, her family would love to have a Celebration of Life Open House. Anyone who knew Barbara  is encouraged to come and celebrate her life, share happy memories, listen to some of her favorite music and eat some food.

The celebration will be held Saturday April 15th, 2023 from 2pm - 6pm at the Sycamore Golf Clubhouse located at 940 E. State Street in Sycamore, IL.
