Ann Elizabeth Fricke, 65, of DeKalb, IL, passed away suddenly on October 22, 2024.

 Ann was born July 27, 1959, in Elgin, IL, to Richard and Milly Fricke.

Ann had a passion for the fine arts and literature; a passion that helped her get a position as Registrar at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. She was also an avid music fanatic and accumulated an extensive music collection spanning decades. Ann served her community with her involvement in Habitat for Humanity over the years. Ann loved animals and shared her home with many cats over the years, as well as her beloved beagle. Ann inherited her sense of humor from her father, always bringing love and laughter wherever she went.

Ann is survived by her brother, Mark (Tracy) Fricke and her cherished nieces, Laura (Scott) Powers and Sarah (T.J.) Inciong. Ann was preceded in death by her older sister Mary (Walter) Klein who inspired her career as a Civil Servant in the United States Postal Service.

A graduate of Southern Methodist University, Ann received a Bachelor of Arts and Art History degree. She also studied at Northern Illinois University and received a Master of Public Administration degree. Ann worked at the United States Postal Service from 1993 until her retirement in 2017.

A celebration of Ann’s life will be held for her family and friends at a date and location to be determined in January 2025.
