Allen H. Frerichs, 94, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb.

He was born March 16, 1930, in Alexander, Iowa, the son of John and Trientje (Leemhuis) Frerichs. Allen married Marian L. Carlson on January 22nd of 1965, in Waukegan, IL.

Allen was a graduate of Parkersburg High School class of 1948.  He earned a Bachelor's degree from University of Northern Iowa, a Master's degree from the University of Iowa, and an EdD from the University of Illinois. He taught at several high schools in Iowa, including East High School in Waterloo, IA, and he was a professor at Northern Illinois University for 25 years.

He is survived by his niece Gloria Frerichs.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marian; his parents and his brothers John and Lauris.

Cremation rites have been accorded and at Allens’s request there are no services or visitation. Private burial of cremains will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg, IA.
